Confluence
The exhibition is a continuing dialogue for bringing our ceramic artists together to share ideas, techniques and also create new opportunities for the artists internationally. It will showcase ceramic artists from both Kansas City and Foshan, China, in a unique cultural setting.

KwanWu 吳信坤
1951年生, 美國著名華裔雕塑家,1981年廣州美術學院雕塑系研究生畢業, 師從著名雕塑大師潘鶴。任教于廣州美術學院雕塑系, 同時任廣東省青年雕塑學會會長。1988年底, 受國際雕塑協會邀請赴美, 任堪薩斯大學客席教授。1991年在全美”美國基本法200週年紀念碑” 雕塑競標中中標。20多年來,創作了一大批美國歷史偉人、現代名人以及紀念碑紀念像,作品進入許多大型國家級博物館、體育館、名人館及畫廊。2000年受前美國總統克林頓夫婦邀請訪問白宮。
Born in 1951, Kwan Wu is a famous Chinese American sculptor. Kwan Wu was selected as an instructor in the art school until he was again chosen in 1978 as one of two students the Chinese National Sculptor, Pan Ho, selected as a master’s student. During the following three years in a personal master’s program, Kwan became a professor in the Art Institute of Canton, a colleague and protégé of Pan Ho, and a leading sculptor in southern China. Kwan was invited to America in late 1988 as a guest professor in the University of Kansas. In 2000, Kwan got invited to White House by Mr. and Mrs. Clinton.


Linda Lighton 琳達萊頓
1948年生, 美國著名陶藝家,1947年起, 在全世界共舉行46場個人展覽, 參加包括重要博物館組織的國際大展117次, 作品被國際知名企業和收藏家收藏。
Born in 1948, Linda Lighton is a famous American ceramist. Since 1947, she has held 46 personal exhibitions worldwide, and participated in large international exhibitions for 117 times. Many of her works are collected by internationally known enterprises and collectors.


John Hachmeister 約翰哈克梅斯特
1949年生, 堪薩斯大學藝術教授, 藝術鑄造和首飾鑄造專家, 在教學中研究多種材料的創新組合, 獲得極高的成就。曾應邀請到景德鎮進行學術交流。
Born in 1949, John Hachmeister is a professor in the University of Kansas. John had great achievement studying variety materials combination during teaching. He was invited to Jinde Zhen for academic exchange.


James Leedy 詹姆斯利迪
1930年生, 美國著名陶藝家、畫家、雕塑家、攝影師,作者被紐約、華盛頓等國際重要博物館收藏, 1950年開始研究對陶泥的改革和使用, 成為新一代陶藝領軍人物, 曾獲中美文化藝術交流大獎。
Born in 1930, James Leedy is a famous American ceramist, painter, sculptor and photographer. His works are collected by important international museums including in New York city, Washinton D.C.. James won Sino-US Art Award.


Joyce Jablonski 喬伊斯雅布隆斯基
1956年生, 美國著名陶藝師, 研究傳統工藝和現代材料的運用。作品被多個現代藝術博物館展出和收藏。目前任沃倫斯堡的中央密蘇里大學藝術教授以及陶藝學主任。
Born in 1956, Joyce Jablonski is a famous American ceramist who studies the use of traditional techniques and modern materials. Her works are exhibited and collected by several modern art museums. Currently, she is an art professor for University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and the directorfor ceramic department.


Sarah Gross 莎拉格絲
1980年生, 紐約藝術家, 堪薩斯大學副教授。研究當代藝術和陶藝在新藝術中的使用, 在各個重要展覽中獲獎。
Born in 1980, Sarah Gross is an artist in New York and a vice professor in the University of Kansas. Sarah studied the contemporary art and ceramic art, and received awards in various important exhibitions.


Marshall Maude 馬歇爾莫德
1973年生, 美國堪薩斯州大學副教授, 專門研究柴燒陶藝, 作品多次參加國際著名藝術大展。作品被韓國仁川Toyaseum藝術博物館、美國堪薩斯Leedy-Voulkos藝術中心等永久收藏。
Born in 1973, Marshall Maude is a vice professor in the University of Kansas, who specialized in firewood-cast ceramics. His works got attended well-known international art exhibition several times. Some of his works were collected permanently by Toyaseum, an art museum in Incheon, South Korea, and Leedy-Voulkos, an art center in Kansas, USA.


Minghsiang Kuo 郭明香
1958年生, 獲美國堪薩斯大學教育博士和資優教育碩士, 藝術系學士學位, 長期從事陶藝和繪畫, 組織和參加各種國際文化交流及藝術大展, 是參與中美雕塑園建設的主要骨幹之一。
Born in 1958, Kuo Minghsiang got a Doctor degree in education and a Master degree inquality education and a Bachelor degree in art in the University of Kansas. She’s been engaged in ceramics and drawing. She organized and participated all kinds of international cultural exchange programs and art exhibitions, and she is one of the core members of Sino-US sculpture park.
